Yogassist with Pam

Passionate about yoga and an avid practitioner for more than 15 years, I have experienced the joy and benefits of this practice. Over the years, I have increased my range of motion, gained flexibility, connected with my body, built strength and developed more awareness. This has inspired me to create Yogassist – in which I am weaving together my personal practice, the knowledge and tools acquired during those years to empower you move.

Yogassist has been developed to assist you to move better – to get things in motion – physically, emotionally and mentally through the yoga practice

It is an embodied practice, active and experiential with your body as the greatest teacher. The transformative experience gained on the mat is aimed to be brought in your everyday life. Through the physical practice with mindful hands-on assists (physical guidance) coupled with neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) techniques, I will facilitate your journey to move better. This will take place in a safe and inviting space where you will be guided in a respectful manner.

What to expect in a class?

A typical session starts with an intention setting followed by the physical practice, ending with a relaxation. The physical practice usually comprises breathing practice, abdominal work before moving to long holding poses, which will help you to connect with your body and emotions. You will be invited to cultivate presence/mindfulness throughout the sessions.

What are the benefits?

Although the benefits are enjoyed in as much as 4 sessions, how much you gain from the practice really depends on you! Practicing 1 or 2 hours of yoga per week (which is the average weekly  practice – less than 1% of our active time) in isolation is not enough to enjoy all the benefits of this practice.

To feel all the benefits of the practice, you are encouraged to bring what has been experienced on the mat in your everyday life

The proven benefits are numerous, some of them include:

  • Physically: improved range of motion, increased strength and balance, feeling of spaciousness
  • Mentally: calmness, joy, freedom, patience, peaceful
  • Emotionally/spiritually: increased awareness, feeling more connected inward

Is Yogassist for me?

Through intentional alignment and intuitive assistance, I am here to assist curious beginners; advanced practitioners who want to deepen their practice; people managing injuries/issues; a yogi looking for a safe space to practice, or simply people who want to indulge in a self-care practice.

Yogassist has something for everyone – who is willing to move better!

Workshops

I also offer workshops to open up targeted areas and developing specific skills.

Journey to backbending

Backbends are known for increasing flexibility, strengthening and stretching the body, improving posture and reducing tension.

In this 6-week workshop, we will embark on a journey to open the heart space through a backbend practice.

The peak pose on the 6th week will be the wheel pose. A challenging, heart-opening yoga posture that stretches and strengthens the entire body.

Journey to split

Beyond the emotional and mental benefits, the workshop will also help you to increase your range of motion and flexibility.

In this 4-week workshop, we will embark on a journey to open and strengthen your hip area. This journey is planned in such a way that targeted areas open up every week.

Splits, also known as Hanumanasana/Monkey poses, are challenging poses which require patience and perseverance.

Private Yoga class

If you want a tailor-made class, you can also book a private one. These classes will be shaped around a specific intention based on your needs, wants, abilities and injuries – discussed during an initial introductory meeting. It is important to ensure that we can embark on this journey together. If I feel I cannot facilitate your journey, I will refer you to someone else.
